The Arab baths in Palma are located at 7 Calle Serra. It was built in the 11th century . There is a square room with 12 columns used for the hot and cold baths. It is one of the few remaining examples of Moslem architecture in the island. In the gardens of Can Fontirroig, an historic mansion, you can see remnants of chimneys and hot water and steam pipes. The cold baths room no longer exists. There is a square room with 12 columns that support a copula with round apertures. A narrow corridor led to an area that served as a dressing room. Materials from other buildings were used in its construction. These baths possibly formed part of the Palace of some noble Moslem. The Arabs carried out a complex hydraulic system for the city. There is a double floor with alcoves through which hot water traveled. The Arabs also built mosques, inns and other baths as these. They also built the palace known as ‘’ S’Almudaina ‘’. Exclusively for private use. In the same area of the city you will find the ‘’ Parc de la Mar ‘’.
