TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
NAME: ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORY OF MAJORCA
OAM, Astronomical Observatory of Majorca (Costitx). It is located in the central area of the island, in Costitx. It is dedicated to research and dissemination of Astronomy. In 1996 the OAM discovered the asteroid 20140 and it was named “Costitx” . Guided tours directed by scientific staff are available. In 2003 its Planetarium was opened. It is an ideal place to watch the Perseid stars on August 12th. The Perseids are known as the tears of San Lorenzo
