The making of the typical Majorcan ‘’panades'' (Majorcan pie) traditionally took place at Easter, but today we can taste them all year round. This pie consists of dough made from flour and butter that involves different ingredients such as meat, peas, spicy sausage, fish ... and subsequently baked.

In Mallorca, the pies have the appearance of a box with rounded edges interlaced or pinched. It is believed that its origin, like most pies that are made all over the world, was due to be able to preserve foods such as cooked meat.

Typical Majorcan pies are filled with lamb or pork meat and peas, but today we can find many varieties of different pies filled also with vegetables, fish, chicken, etc..
