The Sanctuary of the Mare de Déu de Cura is located on top of the Puig de Randa, an elevation of 543 meters above sea level which is part of the municipality of Algaida. The history of the shrine dates back to the thirteenth century after the conquest of King James I.

In Cura was created the first grammar school in Majorca and in this beautiful corner of the island lived for years the Blessed Ramon Llull. From the outstanding viewpoints of the sanctuary can be seen all over Majorca, and rise in the flattest area of the island.

This sanctuary was restored in the early twentieth century by the order of the Franciscan tertiary and the image of the Virgin de Cura, was crowned in a pontifical way in 1955. During the visit to the shrine we find the Museum of the Classroom Grammar, gazebos, gardens, the church and an inn.
