The Sanctuary of the Mare de Déu de Sant Salvador is built on the mountain of Sant Salvador to 509 meters high above sea level and within the municipality of Felanitx.

From the top we can enjoy a breathtaking view of the interior villages of Mallorca, off the coast, and on clear days, even the island of Cabrera. The sanctuary was built in 1348, the year in which the black plague was rampant in Majorca with special virulence in Felanitx, where there were many deaths.

The present church dates from the eighteenth century and its interior there is the stone sculpture of the Virgin Mary found by a shepherd (XV). Heritage of the sanctuary stands an altarpiece of the ‘’Passion Imaginis’’, carved in Santanyí stone during the first half of the fifteenth century.

Over time, the stadium has served as a grammar school (sixteenth century) and a place of defense to monitor the arrival of pirates from Africa. In the ascent to the shrine, there are several buildings still standing, as a small chapel that indicates the point where it was found the Virgin Mary, la Cruz des Picot, and a spectacular monument to Christ the King: A sculpture of half of the twentieth century seven meters high made of copper and placed on a structure of thirty-seven meters high.

The sanctuary offers a parking area, a modern hostel and a cafe that serves meals.
